The latest Episode of The Investing Show, powered by Timeline, features an extraordinary new study by researchers at King’s College London and Warwick University.
It began as a series of interviews with active fund managers and equity analysts about their work. But it morphed into something every different. Why? Because what people REALLY wanted to talk about was passive investing and the threat it poses to their livelihoods.
Some of those interviewed openly admitted that passive investing is superior, and others that they invested all of their own money in index funds. Some even told the researchers they wouldn’t invest in their own funds.
The interview we did with Professor Crawford Spence at KCL, one of the academics involved in the study, is fascinating and well worth 15 minutes of your time to watch.
By the way, please let me know what you think. You can’t work in the investing industry or the financial advice profession and NOT have a view on this.
